Move on up è il singolo estratto dall’album Curtis, prodotto dalla Curtom Record nel 1970, e primo 33 giri di Curtis Mayfield, artista molto apprezzato nel circuito funk e modern soul.
Il brano ha passato ben 10 settimane nella top 50 UK Single Chart e tuttora, a distanza di più di 40 anni è sempre un piacere ascoltarlo!
Questa canzone è stata più volte “coverizzata”, a partire dagli elettronici Brian Van 3000 agli Impression, passando per i Destination e per l’hip hop dei Roots…ma la cover che a Football a 45 giri piace maggiormente è quella dei Jam, band punk-mod:
