The Masterplan quando musica e calcio si intrecciano
Il calcio e la musica sono in stretta sintonia quando si parla degli Oasis e questo emerge anche nel video di The Masterplan.
Già, anche i sassi sanno che i fratelli Gallagher sono associati al Manchester City come al britpop, ma hai fatto caso che c’è un riferimento al football nel videoclip della canzone The Masterplan?
The Masterplan
Questo è il titolo di un brano che porta lo stesso nome del disco che lo contiene, uscito nel 1998 per la Creation/Sony e prodotto da Owen Morris e lo stesso Noel Gallagher. La canzone fu pubblicata la prima volta come lato b di Wonderwall nel 1995.
Il video è già di persè molto particolare…presentato al pubblico nel 2006, è in stile cartone animato. Le immagini sono chiaramente ispirate ai disegni di Laurence Stephen Lowry, artista famoso per aver dipinto la Manchester industriale nei 50s. Nel video sono presenti anche i membri della band.
Ma il calcio cosa c’entra?
C’è un chiaro riferimento al football, infatti si vedono gli Oasis andare verso il Maine Road, il vecchio stadio del City e si può notare un muro con scritto “Man.City v Newcastle”. Ma c’è di più; perchè proprio la partita tra i citizens ed i geordies?
Perchè quello fu il primo football match che Noel vide allo stadio quando era ancora bambino. Romantico!
