Curva sud Roma, The kids are alright

Con gli ultras della Roma la musica è spesso protagonista, questa volta con una coreografia di Nel Nome di Roma, gruppo importante della Curva Sud.
Roma v Torino di Coppa Italia, gennaio 2026: l’impatto visivo è di quelli belli, tra i due aste e le pezze compare uno striscione con delle parole in lingua inglese, un motto, un inno, un riferimento musicale e culturale: “The kids are alright”. Tutto molto bello…questa frase merita un approfondimento, si tratta del titolo di un brano dei The Who, settima traccia dell’album di esordio della band, My generation, pubblicato dall Brunswich record nel 1966. La canzone è favolosa e divenne rappresentativa per il i The Who, sia per le lyrics, sia perchè durante le esibizioni live il tesatoveniva variato di volta in volta, sia perchè con lo stesse parole venne intitolato un album nel 1979 ed un mitico documentario. The Who non sono soltanto dei musicisti di successo, ma sono un simbolo per i ragazzi ribelli e sono l’icona dei mods: basette, Lambrette, risse con i rockers, terraces, parka e sopratutto stile! Già lo stile, quel qualcosa che contraddistingue anche la tifoseria romanista. Questa coreografia ha interessato il settore basso dove stazionano gli ASR MODS, gruppo storico che può vantare tra le proprie fila gli appartenenti alla sottocultura modernista. Non serve occhio troppo attento per notare che accanto allo striscione “the kids are alright” appaiono due aste e pezze che richiamano la subcultura mod, i riferimenti 60s e lo spirit of 79.
