E’uno spettacolo vedere i tifosi del Liverpool cantare allo stadio di Anfield la canzone There she goes, disco mitico di musica britpop.

Ecco la Kop che intona in coro il brano della band inglese The La’s:

La canzone si sposa totalmente con il coro da stadio, sembra nata per quello ed invece è un brano musicale scritto da Lee MArves, il cantante della band, originario di Liverpool..sarà per questo che la tifoseria dei Reds si lega a queste note?!?
Il brano è forse il più bello di tutto il filone britpop – madchester..possiamo definire i The La’s pionieri del briptop anche se tale genere arriverà qualche anno dopo. Fondamentalmente quello stile british che si rifà agli anni 60, mi fa impazzire!

Il brano è del 1988 ed è stato pubblicato di nuovo nel 1989 e nel 1990 remixato inciso dall’etichetta Go! Disc, con un discreto successo nelle chart del Regno Unito. Il testo è dedicato ad una donna, ma sembra che invece si riferisca all’eroina..d’altronde le donne sono una droga per molti noi…
Ecco un opunto saliente del testo dal quale si evince la metafora donna-eroina: “There she goes again… racing through my brain… pulsing through my vein… no one else can heal my pain”. Per sfatare il mito è intervenuto John Power, il bassista:

Non lo so. La verità è che non voglio saperlo. Droga e follia vanno di pari passo. Le persone che conosci da una vita… sono fidate, poi non lo sono più. Non puoi riflettere, perché ti ammazza
