La bandiera dei tifosi dello Shamrock Rovers e quella frase d’amore che unisce il calcio alla musica con un legame forte ed importante.

Non è certamente la prima ne l’ultima volta che un tifoso scelga il testo di una canzone o comunque un riferimento musicale per descrivere quanto prova per la propria squadra del cuore, ma gli Hoops si sono superati!

Un fan degli “Cumann Peile Ruagairí na Seamróige”, il nome gaelico del club bianconverde di Dublino, ha inserito le seguenti parole su una bandiera: I’m so in love with you.

Let’s stay together

E’un riferimento al testo del brano Let’s stay together, una canzone RnB, rithm & blues, uscita in 45 giri nel 1971 per la casa discografica Capitol Record.
Il disco è cantato da Al Green, uno che di vinili ne ha venduti!

Ed ecco il video della canzone che ha ispirato questo tifoso dei Rovers, la squadra più titolata dell’Irlanda e che nasce nel 1901 a Ringsend, un sobborgo dublinese. Il simbolo è chiaramente il trifoglio, lo shmarock appunto ed i colori a strisce, che si trovano spesso in ambito “irish” vengono non dal Celtic Glasgow, bensì dal Belfast Celtic, una squadra della quale abbiamo già parlato.
